J.C. BOOTH JUNIOR BETA CLUB

This chapter of the National Junior Beta Club is an integral part of the central organization of the National Junior Beta Club, and shall be governed by the academic and financial policies laid down in the National Constitution of the central organization of the National Junior Beta Club. Its coat-of-arms, motto, colors, creed, and official insignia shall be those of the National organization of the National Junior Beta Club. 

The purpose of this organization shall be the promotion of scholarship, leadership, and good citizenship at J. C. Booth Middle School.

Besides endeavoring at all times to be of service to J. C. Booth Middles School and its students by upholding high standards of honesty and good citizenship, this chapter of the National Junior Beta Club shall undertake worthwhile service project to benefit the school and the community.

STANDARDS OF MEMBERSHIP
Standards of membership in the J. C. Booth Middle School chapter of the National Junior Beta Club must conform to the general features as laid down in the National Constitution and in all cases, must be approved by the executive head of the school.
The classes from which members may be drawn shall be sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. The scholastic requirements for membership in this chapter of the National Junior Beta Club shall be a 90 or above average in all subject areas in a standard middle school curriculum and 88 or above in an accelerated or gifted middle school curriculum for the prior semester. A grade of 90 or above must also be achieved in each of the nine-week connections classes for the qualifying semester. Members will be invited after each semester.

LOSS OF MEMBERSHIP
A member of this chapter of the National Junior Beta Club may be dropped from membership if his/her scholastic record falls below a cumulative average of 90 or above, with no individual course grades falling below 85.
However, no member may be dropped from membership for scholastic deficiency without being accorded a probationary period of one semester to raise his/her scholastic record above the minimum required for membership status.
Due process will be afforded to all before membership is withdrawn. Others incidences which may result in loss of membership would include, but would not be limited to, a change in the student’s character, i.e. incidences set forth in Article 4, paragraph 2.
A student who is dropped from membership may be reinstated provided he/she again meets the requirements laid down in the Constitution and By-laws of this chapter of the National Junior Beta Club.
If and when a student is dropped from membership, a record of this action shall be relayed to the National Office of the National Junior Beta Club immediately.

BETA CLUB SERVICE HOURS
Junior Beta Club members must earn at least five (5) hours of service per semester (three hours for new inductees). Special service awards are earned through greater volunteer efforts. Students earning special service awards will be recognized at the yearly induction ceremony:

• Copper Level Service Award (20-35 hours)
• Pewter Level Service Award (36-49 hours)
• Bronze Award (50-74 hours)
• Silver Award (75-99 hours)
• Gold Award (100+ hours)
