    Parent Survey

We are required to complete a state survey that measures parents' perceptions about our school.  Braelinn is measured, in part, by the number of parents who complete the required survey.  Please take a few moments and complete this survey.  Here is the link:

    http://apps.gadoe.org/schoolclimate/parents.nsf/Survey.xsp

We sincerely appreciate your willingness to provide your input.  Please do so no later than February 15, 2016.

    Thanks!

    Six Flags Read to Succeed

Six Flags Over Georgia offers a reading incentive program to all elementary students. If a child records that he or she has read for at least 6 hours of non-school/pleasure reading time, the child can earn a FREE Six Flags entry ticket that can be redeemed at the Atlanta location next summer.

The deadline for entry is not until Feb. 23rd! However, with all of the upcoming holidays (not to mention all the book fair purchases), it is never too early to get these 6 hours out of the way!

All the child has to do is log the reading-for-fun hours on the attached reading log. The reading log MUST be turned in to Mrs. Hipps on (OR BEFORE) February 23rd. Mrs. Hipps will log all of the names, and the tickets will be distributed at the very end of the school year!

Fun pleasure reading that can count towards this: reading history or information about sites you see on family vacations; reading recipes as you cook; reading new toy or game directions; reading information about displays in museums; reading with grandparents at family gatherings, etc. etc. etc. Reading is everywhere!

    Happy Reading!

District Announcements

  • TUESDAY FEBRUARY 9, 2016:

Extreme Temperature Warning:  All Outdoor Activities This Afternoon & Tonight Canceled

    • Temperatures will be in the single digits, factoring in the wind chill factor, from tonight (Feb. 9) until Thursday morning (Feb. 11). Parents need to make sure that their children dress warmly for being outside (i.e., bus stops).
    • Temperatures of this nature can create health problems if our children are not dressed appropriately (i.e., frostbite).
    • The weather warning is in effect for the north GA counties. At this time, we are not in any danger for snow. We will be dealing with the extreme cold temperatures.

Regular school day tomorrow (Wednesday, February 10, 2016).
