BOARD RECAP
The Fayette County Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, July 25, 2005 in the boardroom of the Fayette County Board of Education. The following actions were taken:

7. Comptroller Lee Davis reported that finance is in the process of closing out the 2004-2005 school year. Mr. Davis will present a monthly report in August.

a. Update on Construction
Auditorium: The concrete slabs in the seating and stage areas have been poured. The brick wainscot at the side aisles and across the front of the stage has been constructed. The fire protection sprinkler system has been installed. The acoustical ceiling clouds have been constructed. The steel framing for the steps has been constructed and the concrete is scheduled to be poured Thursday. The HVAC loop lines are being installed. The seating and carpet are on site.
Kitchen/Cafeteria: The concrete slab has been poured. Most of the concrete masonry walls have been constructed. The new ductwork is being installed. This area will be completed when the students arrive August 8th, but will require every bit of time to complete.
Rising
The
contractor has started demolition of the sidewalk and begun some light grading. Weather has had an impact on site work.
New
Middle School
The construction documents have been completed and are being submitted to the Fire Marshall, Department of Education Building Department and are being reviewed for quality control by the A/E team. The school is scheduled to bid September 1, 2005.
Peeples and
The
architect and engineers have completed the construction documents. The
final documents have been approved by the Department of Education. The
scheduled bid date is September 13, 2005.
