The Fayette County Board of Education met in called session on Tuesday, August 5, 2003. The following actions were taken:

1. Approved to act in called session

2. Approved agenda

3. Adjourned to executive session for discussion of personnel and pending or potential litigation

4. Returned from executive session

5. No action was taken relating to executive session

6. Personnel items were approved as presented including:

· Linda Kipa from assistant principal, Tyrone Elementary School, to principal, Robt. J. Burch Elementary School

· Kristin Berryman, Coweta County, to assistant principal, Starr's Mill High School, replaces Ted Lombard

· Stephen Gill, Dekalb County, to assistant principal, Sandy Creek High, replaces Oatha Mann

· Tracey Tyree, assistant principal, North Fayette Elementary School, replaces Jade Bolton (in-school transfer)

7. Job descriptions

a. Director of LaFayette Educational Center - approved

b. Fixed Assets Specialist - on the table for next meeting

c. Director of Technology Services - on the table for next meeting

8. Approved bids for McIntosh High School and Sandy Creek High School renovation/addition projects - includes auditoriums for both schools Approved natural gas bid

9. Revised Policy on Possession of Electronic Communication Devices (JCDAF) - on the table for next meeting

10. Approved energy management plan
