BOARD RECAP
The Fayette County Board of Education met in regular session
on
1. Approved agenda
2. Invocation – Father Paul Massey, Church of the Holy Cross Charismatic Episcopal Church

4. Comptroller James Stephens reported that the monthly finances were in order
5. Recognition: outstanding employee was recognized
6. Personnel items were approved as presented
7. There were two comments from the public
8. Consent agenda:

field trips including four additional field trip requests for
2. Approved to continue to use 3rd grade Social Studies resource book entitled The Story of Our Georgia Community by Patricia H. Klein, in conjunction with other resource materials that includes more information on various cultures.
3. Approved revised job description for Instructional Tech Specialist

Electricians are working in the auditorium. The electricians are also working on a few electrical punch list items in the mornings prior to students arrival. The general contractor is working on the punch list items in all areas when not occupied and on weekends.
The P.E. facility exterior brick walls are substantially completed. The metal roofing panels are being installed over the track area. Concrete masonry work is on-going in the upper locker rooms and the public restrooms. The steel railings are being installed around the interior perimeter of the track. In the kitchen area the plumber is installing the below slab plumbing. This work is in two phases in order to keep the existing kitchen operational.
The auditorium seating installation has begun. Ductwork is substantially complete in all areas except the stage which began last week. Painting is on-going in the auditorium and will begin in the lobby next week. The theater lighting has begun over the stage area. The parking lot in front of the auditorium has been completed. Roof work in the auditorium has been substantially completed except for the tie-in to the existing roof.

12. Greg Powers announced that 64 withdrawals of students from outside the county resulted from residency checks initiated at the beginning of the school year.
