BOARD RECAP

 

The Fayette County Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, June 20, 2005 in the boardroom of the Fayette County Board of Education.  The following actions were taken:

6.                  Comptroller Lee Davis reported that the monthly finances were in order

7.                  Personnel items approved as presented

8.                  There were no comments from the public

a.                   Approved Local Plan for Career, Technical and Agricultural Funding

b.                  Approved Assistant Director of Human Resources Job Description

c.                   Approved Comprehensive Plan for IDEA

d.                  Approved Annual RESA membership contract

e.                   Approved bid for leasing computers

f.                   Approved bid for the Rising Starr Middle School addition

g.                  Approved Student Code of Conduct

h.                  Approved final approval of 2006 FY Budget

a.                   Georgia Performance Standards Update – Cathy Geis, Social Studies Coordinator

b.                  Update on construction program

                              McIntosh High School Auditorium:  The terraced seating area steel                                  framing is completed.  The concrete terraced floor slab has been                                      poured in the seating area.  The stage framing is being constructed.                                Eighty percent of the acoustical ceiling panels have been installed. The                        concrete block filler applied.

                              The existing kitchen demolition is 95% completed.  This area will be                                   primarily cafeteria expansion with a small area constructed for the new                         kitchen dishwasher area.

                              New Middle School

                              The architects and engineers are working on the construction                                               documents for early August completion. 

                              Rising Starr Middle School Addition

                              The project bid June 14, 2005

 

 

 

                              Peeples and Spring Hill Elementary School Addition

                              The architect and engineers are working on the construction                                                 documents.  The final submittal to the Department of Education                                   Facilities Services Section is scheduled to occur June 30, 2005. The                                         scheduled bid date is September 13, 2005.
