Board Recap

 

The Fayette County Board of Education met in called session on Thursday, January 13, 2005 in the boardroom of the Fayette County Board of Education.  The following actions were taken:

 

1.                  Approved to act in called session

2.                  Approved agenda

3.                  Organizational matters approved as follows:

a.       Terri Smith was elected chairman and Lee Wright vice-chairman for 2005

b.      Board meeting will take place at the Fayette County Board of Education the third Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m.  However, due to holidays the January meeting will be held on January 24th, the February meeting will be held on February 28th, the July meeting will take place on July 25th, and the November meeting will be held November 14, 2005.  Called meetings and work sessions will be held as needed.

c.       Harben and Hartley will remain the School Board Attorney for 2005.

4.                  Personnel resignations, separation from employment, reclassifications and elections were approved as presented

5.                  Approved adoption of Bond Resolution

6.                  Approved corporate Resolution for Depository and Brokerage

7.                  Approved retention pond on Lester Road property

8.                  Approved overnight field trips for McIntosh High and J. C. Booth Middle

9.                  Announced upcoming meetings

a.       Georgia School Boards Association District Legislator visit to the Capitol, Monday, January 24, 2005, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon

b.      School Board Institute – Saturday, February 5, 2005, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
