The Fayette County Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, April 17, 2006 in the boardroom of the Fayette County Board of Education. The following actions were taken:

 

1.                  Approval of agenda

3.                  Pledge of Allegiance – Corey McNulty, 3rd grade, Ethan McNulty, 4th grade and Jared Godkin, kindergarten, Cleveland Elementary School

5.                  Monthly Financial Report – Comptroller Lee Davis stated that the finances were in order

6.                  Approved personnel as presented

7.                  There were no comments from the public

a.       Approved FY 2007 School Nutrition Program meal prices –

      Lunch - Elementary - from $1.80 to $1.90

      Lunch - Middle/High     - from $1.90 to $2.00

      Lunch - Adults - from $2.50 to $2.60

      Breakfast – Elementary – from $1.15 to $1.25

      Breakfast – Middle/High – N/A

      Breakfast – Adults – from $1.35 to $1.45

b.      Contract for Sale of Realty – tabled for revision

Bennett’s Mill Middle School

The concrete slabs for the media center, art, chorus, band, strings and administrative area have been poured.  Structural steel for the kitchen, mechanical room, serving line and cafeteria have been erected. The structural steel is being installed in the administration and media areas.

The trusses over the cafeteria have been installed.  The roofing metal deck over the cafeteria is being installed.  The footings for the technology lab, computer lab and health classroom have been poured. 

Rising Starr Middle School Addition

The brick exterior wall on the 800 classroom addition is approximately 45% complete and approximately 20% complete on the 900 classroom addition. The window frame installation has been completed on the three wings.  The gas line is being completed to each roof-top HVAC unit.

Peeples Elementary School Addition

The corridor concrete masonry unit walls have been constructed. Structural steel erection has begun.

Spring Hill Elementary School Addition

The roof purlins have been installed. The mezzanine concrete slab has been poured. The standing-seam metal roofing has begun.  Exterior concrete masonry unit walls are approximately 60% completed.

Flat Rock & Whitewater Middle School

The owner/contractor contracts have been processed, the pre-construction meeting has been held with the A/E team and the general contractor and the major sub-contractors.  

Booth Middle School

The work for the kitchen and air conditioning of the gymnasium is bidding April 13, 2006.

East Fayette Elementary School

The HVAC roof-top replacement and HVAC installation for the gym bid date is April 20, 2006.

McIntosh High School

The replacement of roof-top HVAC units and replacement of ceiling tile and grid and installation of marker boards bid date is April 25, 2006.

Brooks Elementary School

The architects and engineers are working on schematic design drawings for the addition, air-conditioning of the kitchen, renovation of the media auxiliary spaces, replacement of the gym roof and replacement of theroof-top HVAC units.

Fayette Middle School

The architects and engineers are working on schematic design drawings for the renovation of the kitchen, air-conditioning the gymnasium and replacement of the roof-top HVAC units.

i.    New Job Descriptions – on table for review
