Update
on Construction Program:
The concrete slabs for the media center,
art, chorus, band, strings and administrative area have been poured. Structural steel for the kitchen, mechanical
room, serving line and cafeteria have been erected. The structural steel is
being installed in the administration and media areas.
The trusses over the cafeteria have been
installed. The roofing metal deck over
the cafeteria is being installed. The
footings for the technology lab, computer lab and health classroom have been poured.
The brick exterior wall on the 800 classroom addition is
approximately 45% complete and approximately 20% complete on the 900 classroom addition.
The window frame installation has been completed on the three wings. The gas line is being completed to each
roof-top HVAC unit.
The owner/contractor contracts have been processed, the pre-construction meeting has been held with the A/E team and the general contractor and the major sub-contractors.
The work for the kitchen and air conditioning of the gymnasium is bidding April 13, 2006.
The HVAC roof-top replacement and HVAC installation for the gym bid date is April 20, 2006.
The replacement of roof-top HVAC units and replacement of ceiling tile and grid and installation of marker boards bid date is April 25, 2006.
Brooks Elementary School
The architects and engineers are working on schematic design drawings for the addition, air-conditioning of the kitchen, renovation of the media auxiliary spaces, replacement of the gym roof and replacement of theroof-top HVAC units.
