BOARD RECAP

The Fayette County Board of Education met in called session on Monday, January 9, 2006, in the boardroom of the Fayette County Board of Education. The following actions were taken:

1. Approved to act in called session

2. Approved agenda

3. Organizational items were approved as presented

a. Terri Smith was elected chairman and Lee Wright vice-chairman for 2006

b. Board meetings will take place at the Fayette County Board of Education on the third Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. However, due to holidays the January meeting will held on January 23^rd, the February meeting will be held on February 13^th, the July meeting will be held on July 24^th, and the November meeting will be held November 13^th, 2006.Called meetings and work sessions will be held as needed.

c. Harben and Hartley will remain the School Board Attorney for 2006.

4. Upcoming Meetings

a. Fayette County Board of Education Retreat – Saturday, January 21, 2006, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the LaFayette Educational Center

b. Board members visit with District Legislators at the Capitol on Wednesday, February 1, 2006, at 9:00 a.m.

5. Approved revised Job Description for the Assistant Director of Human Resources

6. Adjourned to executive session for discussion of personnel

7. Returned from executive session

8. No action taken relating to executive session
