BOARD RECAP
The Fayette County Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, July 24, 2006 in the boardroom of the Fayette County Board of Education. The following actions were taken:

4. Comptroller Lee Davis reported the finance department is in the process of closing 2005-2006 fiscal year. He will have a finished report at the August meeting.

Approved personnel as presented including the
reclassification of Terri Gerhardt, from Purchasing Assistant to Purchasing
Agent, Central Office, replaces Fred Phillips and Dr. Stephen Worth from school
psychologist to coordinator of Psychological Services,

a. Update on Construction Program
All of the building steel roof
framing has been installed except for the gym area. Some of the
gymnasium trusses have been delivered. The metal roofing deck has been
installed over the classroom area. The light-weight concrete roofing deck has
been poured over 85% of the non-classroom areas and has begun over the
classroom area. Concrete masonry wall
construction is on going in the classroom areas. The exterior brick
installation is on-going in the classroom portion of the building. The contractor has begun cleaning the brick in
the areas where walls are completed.
The skylite
steel curb framing is installed in the entire building.
The skylite
aluminum framing has begun.
The brick exterior wall is complete
on all the classroom wings. The floor tile
is installed in all three classroom wings and the perimeter base is 90% complete. The casework has been installed in all the
classrooms. All doors have been
installed, 90% of the hardware is
installed. The Fire Marshal has given
permission to move furniture and supplies into the classrooms.
The roof-top HVAC units have been installed. The spiral-duct work installation has been completed. The gas line installation has been completed. The electrical is approximately 80% completed.
The concrete masonry work has been completed. The serving line railings have been installed. The kitchen and serving line has been painted. The kitchen equipment is to begin arriving at the school the week of July 24th. The existing lockers have been removed and the new lockers have been installed. The number plates are to be installed in the next couple of days. The ceiling tile and grid demolition has been completed in all sectors and installation of the new grid and ceiling tile is approximately 90% complete.
All the rooftop units except three are on site and are being set in place. The gym HVAC units have been set in place, the spiral duct installation in the gym has begun.
The new roof-top HVAC unit for the new Health Occupations Lab has been set. Duct work has been installed with the exception of the registers. The sum of the replacement units have arrived on site.

Final Architectural/ Engineering documents will be submitted to the Department of Education in the next couple of days.

b. New Job Description for CVAE Teacher/Graduation Specialist – will sit on table for 30 days.
