BOARD RECAP

 

The Fayette County Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, August 21, 2006 in the boardroom of the Fayette County Board of Education. The following actions were taken:

7.         Comptroller Lee Davis reported the finance department is close to closing out FY 2006 and plans to present the year end and July financials at the September meeting. Finances look to be in order.

12.       Superintendent’s Reports

            a.   Lee Davis, Comptroller, presented the Audit Report for FY 2005

b.   Sam Sweat, Assistant Superintendent Of Operations, presented the Update on New Residency Requirements and update on the New Welcome Center at the LEC which will open January 2006

            c.   Policy GBRI/GCRG/GDRH – Leave and Absences will sit on table 30 days

            d.   Update on Construction Program

Bennett’s Mill Middle School

The gymnasium roof trusses have been installed. The metal decking is being installed over the gmnasium trusses. The light-weight concrete roofing deck has been poured over 95% of the building. Concrete masonry wall construction is on going in the classroom areas. The exterior brick installation is ongoing in the classroom portion of the building and approximately 85% complete.

The roofing has been installed over approximetly 45% of the building and the skylite aluminum framing and glazing is approximately 70% complete.

Rising Starr Middle School Addition

Peeples Elementary School Addition

Punch list items to be completed.

Spring Hill Elementary School Addition

Punch list items to be completed.

Flat Rock & Whitewater Middle School Gyms

Punch list items to be completed.

Booth Middle School

The serving line has been in use since August 7, 2006. Completion of the kitchen is scheduled for Monday August 21, 2006.

East Fayette Elementary School

Punch list items to be completed.

McIntosh High School

Punch list items to be completed.

Brooks Elementary School

Final architectural/ engineering documents have been submitted to the Department of Education.

Fayette Middle School

The kitchen modification, gym HVAC and replacement of existing rooftop HVAC units are approved to bid.  The bid date is September 12, 2006.
