BOARD RECAP

 

The Fayette County Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, August 20, 2007 in the boardroom of the Fayette County Board of Education. The following actions were taken:

4.                  Presented Resolutions for Constitution Week

5.                  Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting – Laura Brock accepted the certificate for finance department.

6.                  Employee recognition - Amor Kok

7.                  Monthly Financial Report – Laura Brock, Acting Comptroller, reported finances are in order

8.                  Approved personnel as presented

a.   Update on Construction Program

Oak Grove Elementary School

The exterior concrete masonry walls have been constructed.  Damp-proofing has been applied to the exterior wythe of the masonry walls.  The steel bar joists have been set and welded.  The metal roof deck has been installed and welded in place.  The interior concrete block wall construction is approximately 90 % completed. The ductwork is being installed above the ceiling.  The electrical conduit is being installed above the ceiling.

Inman Elementary School

The concrete slab has been poured on the back classroom wing. The gymnasium area and 50% of the front classroom wing is being prepared for a concrete slab pour later this week. The below grade storm and sanitary sewer piping is being installed in and around the building.
