Education met in regular session on Monday, October 15, 2007 in the boardroom
of the Fayette County Board of Education. The following actions were taken:

Update
on Construction Program
The
quarry tile floor has been completed. The suspended ceiling grid and ceiling
tile has been installed in the kitchen and the ancillary spaces. The walk-in
cooler/freezer has been installed. The first shipment of kitchen equipment has
arrived on site.
The structural steel is being erected in the classroom wings. Approximately 85% of the structural steel has been erected in sector “D” and 20% in sector “C-1.” The sector “D” corridor concrete masonry walls are approximately 90% constructed and the sector “C1” corridor concrete masonry walls are approximately 40% constructed. The mason has started constructing the exterior concrete masonry walls in sector “D.” The plumber is installing the plumbing piping in the restrooms.
New Elementary School #2
The civil engineers are working the septic system design. The architects have submitted the schematic design documents to the Department of Education and they have been approved.
