The Board of Education met in regular session on January 28, 2008 in the boardroom of the Fayette County Board of Education. The following actions were taken:

a) Update on Construction Program
The structural steel erection is 100% complete except for the entrance canopy. The concrete masonry is 95% complete in Sectors “A”, “C” and “D.” The mechanical ductwork is 90 % complete in Sector “D.” The flat roof areas have the metal deck and the roof drains installed and are ready for the lightweight concrete. The rooftop HVAC curb has been secured in place. The standing-seam metal roof installation is 85% complete in Sector “D” and 10% in Sector “C-1.” The brick walls are 85% complete in the courtyard, 20% in the gymnasium (Sector “C-2”) and 5% in the administration area. The metal stud framing at the gable ends of the roof is 90% complete and the sheathing is being installed on the metal stud framing. The permanent electrical transformer has been set by the power company. Electrical wiring and plumbing piping is on-going.
New Elementary School #2. The project is scheduled to bid February 14, 2008.
