The Board of Education met in
regular session on April 21, 2008 in the boardroom of the Fayette County Board
of Education. The following actions were
taken:

Approved After School Program recommended changes –FY2008-2009. Changes included an increase in the
registration fee from $40 to $45. A $5
discount will be offered for students who preregister by May 16. For those
registering after May 16 the fee will increase to $50 (a $15 increase).
11) Superintendent’s Reports
a)
Update on
Construction Program
i)
Inman Elementary
School- The standing-seam metal roof is 99% complete in all sectors. The modified bitument roof (flat areas) is
complete. The mechanical ductwork is
being installed to the energy recovery units.
The fire protection piping (sprinkler lines) is being installed. The block filler has been applied to the
concrete masonry walls in Sector “D.” Permanent
electrical power has been installed to the building. Metal framing for the gypsum board ceiling in
the media center is being installed. The
exterior insulation and finish system is being applied to the gable ends of the
roof and the arched areas above the administration area windows. The gas line has been installed to the
roof-top HVAC units. The concrete
walkways have been poured at the front and bus drive.

Rivers Elementary
School- The contractor has paid the water meter fee and is procuring all
permits in order to start grading the site.

Strategic
Planning Session update- Some suggestions have been made to the vision and
mission statements. They will be brought
before the board at the May 19 regular board meeting with a vote taken in June.
