 Community Resources

Listed below are some of the agencies that anyone can access for a variety of needs. These are generally free or low cost agencies.

Schools participating in C.A.R.E. can also provide assistance with mental health needs, offering a FREE initial assessment with one of several participating mental health providers in our area.

If you are in need of this assistance, please contact the C.A.R.E. Coordinator at the school your student attends. For a list of coordinator email addresses for Fayette County Schools, please use the Contact Page.

AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY

AMERICAN RED CROSS

ANGEL FLIGHT OF GEORGIA
Non-commercial transportation assistance for non-drug, non-alcoholic medical treatment, therapy, or illness

ASSOCIATION OF VILLAGE PRIDE:  770-631-2417
For students attending school in Fayette County and their families - tutoring, mentoring, Rites of Passage Program, multicultural educations

BIG BROTHERS/BIG SISTERS
For youth ages 6-12 years old offering one-on-one adult-to-youth mentoring in community and school-based locations

CANINE ASSISTANTS, INC.
Provides trained helper dogs to assist people with physical disabilities that limit mobility, and for other special needs such as seizure disorders, etc.

CHILDREN'S WISH FOUNDATION
Granting eligible wishes of terminally ill children under the age of 18

CHRISTIAN AIR MINISTRY
Offering air transportation to non-ambulatory people in need of flights

12-month program offering emergency shelter for women (including childcare)

EPILEPSY FOUNDATION OF GEORGIA
Awareness information, presentations to the public, employment assistance, support groups, and more for those who experience this seizure disorder and their families    

FAMILIES FIRST
Family life education, adoption services, foster care, group homes, pregnancy prevention campaign, and more         

FAYETTE COMMUNITY SCHOOL
After school programs, GED (general education diploma) classes, summer camps, mentoring & tutoring programs, Adult Enrichment Education classes, and more

Provides research based information/education for families on nutrition, housing, children and parenting, as well as youth recreation and leadership activities through 4-H clubs -- also offers other clubs for students and for adults

FAYETTE DIABETES ASSOCIATION:  770-487-2862
Education and counseling for people and families dealing with diabetes, including screening, Camp Ivy for children with diabetes, and more

FACTOR (Fayette Alliance Coordinating Teamwork, Outreach & Resources)
County-wide program to share resources, identify and resolve service gaps and implement "best practices" for serving children, youth, and families living in Fayette County

FAYETTE PREGNANCY RESOURCE CENTER
Offering testing, factual medical information, referrals for medical follow-up, clothing for mother and baby, parenting video resources, counseling, etc.

Qualified individuals and families may receive food, limited housing, utility assistance, clothes, and limited medical cost assistance

MARCH OF DIMES
Resource center for pregnant women, education library, referral center for services regarding children born with genetic and/or congenital difficulties

NATIONAL MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SOCIETY
Information and education programs for people with MS. Self-help groups, lending library, financial assistance for durable medical equipment, referrals to community resources

THE RUTLEDGE CENTER:  770-253-1189
The ARC of Newnan and Coweta Counties serves and promotes general welfare of mentally developmentally disabled citizens in Coweta, Heard, Fulton, and Fayette Counties. Helps participants learn life skills, provides supervised outings

SALVATION ARMY
Offers emergency assistance including financial assistance, furniture, clothing, food

SOUTHERN CRESCENT (Clayton) SEXUAL ASSAULT CENTER
Court advocacy, legal advocacy, hospital advocacy, help for victims of sexual assault as well as education for prevention strategies
