| Welcome
to Open Campus! |
The Fayette County Board of Education is proud to announce the opening of
The Fayette County Open Campus Program, “Open Campus,” beginning with the
2008-09 school year.
This page provides information parents and students need to make an
informed decision as to whether or not the Open Campus program fits the
needs of the student.
The Open Campus program will provide online and individualized course
instruction. All Open Campus teachers are certified and have taught
previously in the Fayette County School system.
Note: The Open Campus program is a program of choice and we have no
Exceptional Children teachers on staff. Any student with an IEP must have
their LEA/Case Manager approve and meet with the student and their parents
prior to being recommended for the Open Campus program. A copy of the
Accommodation/Modification page with the signature of the parents declining
all services is required prior to recommendation. |

Criteria

Any 16-year-old student who lives in Fayette County and has
successfully completed one semester in a Fayette County high school is
eligible to attend the Open Campus program. No out-of-county students are
permitted to attend.
Acceptance to the Open Campus program is determined by the student
meeting certain criteria. Parents and students should contact their high
school counselor to schedule a meeting regarding a recommendation to attend
the Open Campus program. All recommendation forms must be signed by the
Principal and a Counselor from the student’s home school BEFORE any
registration/transfer action will be taken.
Students who are enrolled in a Fayette County high school, but wish to
attend the Open Campus program to make up credits may attend with the
approval of their Principal and Counselor. A Course Registration form
