The academic success of students at
Whitewater High has earned the school a
membership in the Successful Practices
Network.
The network, sponsored by the International
Center for Leadership in Education, is
non-profit collaboration of good schools
that are striving to become great schools.
Through the network, the staff at Whitewater
will exchange best instructional practices,
successful methodologies and peer support
with other member schools.
Schools selected for membership must show
evidence of a deep commitment to meeting the
needs of all students and to professional
development to assist teachers in providing
a rigorous and relevant education for every
student. Most schools selected are promising
schools that want to become proven models of
success.
Network members identify their own
improvement priorities and technical
assistance needs as well as the experience
and know-how they can share with other
schools. Each school works through an
assigned liaison to establish contact with
other schools, master teachers and senior
consultants who can provide research, data
and approaches that otherwise might not be
accessible to local educators.
