The CRCT Online System is now called the Online Assessment System (OAS) to reflect the addition of Georgia High School Graduation Test content to the system.

This site contains questions in the areas of Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. It is a password-protected site. Using this site allows our students to practice test taking skills and to become comfortable with the way questions may be phrased. Students are able to practice from school and home. Teachers can view results of all tests. Some questions may include topics not yet introduced in class. For those questions, we encourage students to use reasoning skills to guess the most likely answer.

Browsers
Click on the above link (under the pencil), Georgia CRCT Online. You may need to click through some security screens before getting to the site.	Make sure you are using Internet Explorer !!! This test will not work properly on Netscape.

Login Name

Carefully type your login name and password. Then click LOGIN.

If the logon or password is incorrect, the words "Invalid Logon" will appear at the top of the screen in red letters.

Make sure you are typing the correct login name and password.

Login:

The login is a combination of 3 items -
[last name, up to 8 letters]
[legal first name, NOT nickname, up to 8 letters]
[student number, usually 5 or 6 digits]

Do not use spaces!

EXAMPLE:
The login for a student named
Christopher Smith, might be -

SmithChristop72945

Password:

The password is the student number.

All students were given their student login information as they were introduced to the test.

If you can't remember your login information,
your classroom teacher can look it up for you!

Pop-Up Blockers

If you enter the logon name and password and then recieve a pop-up error message , then your login name and password were correct, but you might want to change the settings for your pop up blocker to accept pop-ups from this site!

You must disable ALL pop-up blockers for this site to work.

The information applies to other sites that won't work with pop up blockers enabled, but the tricks and tips will help you figure out how to adjust your pop up blocker for the CRCT site as well! Keep in mind - you may unknowingly have more than one pop up blocker turned on!

How To Change Internet Explorer
Pop-Up Settings For This Testing Site

1. While in Internet Explorer, click on Tools > Popup Blocker > Pop-Up Blocker Settings

2. Type in the address shown below & click Add

3. Change the filter level to LOW as shown above & click CLOSE.

Tips for Helping Your Child Be a Successful Test Taker

Do praise your child for the things he or she does well, and be supportive of his or her efforts, especially in areas or activities that are challenging. Kids who feel good about themselves and their abilities-and who aren't fearful about making mistakes-will feel more confident, and less anxious, when taking the test.
Do talk with your child about what they're doing in class and ask what he or she is reading. Studies show that kids who talked with their families on a weekly basis about school and what they were reading scored higher on the national standardized reading test than kids who talked about these things with their families less often.
Do limit your child's TV time. Studies show that kids who watched fewer than three hours of television a day scored higher on the national reading test than those who watched more.
Do express a positive attitude about the test and confidence in your child's ability to do well on it. Research shows that parents' and teachers' attitudes influence children's attitudes. So if you're upbeat and encouraging about the test, your child is likely to feel good about it.
Do encourage your child to read-newspapers, magazines, food labels, recipes, letters, and instructions, in addition to fiction and nonfiction books. Test makers draw on a wide variety of formats when choosing items to evaluate reading comprehension skills.
Do realize that putting too much emphasis on the test and the results can increase your child's anxiety about the test. Too much anxiety can prevent your child from doing his or her best.
Do reassure your child that test scores are only one measure of his or her abilities, not the whole picture. Don't judge your child on the basis of his or her test score.
Do ensure that your child gets a good night's sleep the night before the test and eats a nutritious breakfast the day of the test.
