An Interview With Our Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Tricia Sanders
Where did you grow up? I was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana. I am a Hoosier through and through. We moved to Peachtree City eighteen years ago
Where did you go to college? I went to the University of Evansville, University of West Georgia, University of Phoenix, and finished my Master's at Walden University
How long have you been teaching? This is my fourth year teaching, I was a para-professional for seven years before that.
What did you do before that? Before I had my children, I worked at the headquarters for Atlas Van Lines in the IT department at the computer help center. Before going back to work I stayed at home with my girls.
How many children and anything else about your family. My husband, Eric, and I have two beautiful girls, Erica and Jenna. Erica is a sophomore at Agnes Scott College and Jenna is a sophomore at Starr's Mill High School. Ohhhhh... and we also have the most spoiled and precious beagle in the world, Bailey
What do you like to do in your spare time? I live and die college basketball. It is an exciting time in our home during basketball season! You rarely see me sitting down somewhere and not reading a book. I love to read and have since I was a young child.
What do you like best about teaching the little ones? The best part of teaching the youngest students in the school is that I get to be the first one to really expose them to learning and how much fun it can be. They have such big imaginations and there is nothing to hold them back!
Anything else you want to share?? Hmmmmm.... I'm pretty boring. I have been at Spring Hill for all four years of teaching experience.
