Fayette Salutes Its Teachers During National Teacher Appreciation Week

Fayette County Teachers give so much to their students and community. They spend countless hours preparing lessons, evaluating progress, counseling, coaching, and performing community service. It is impossible to thank the county’s teachers enough for all that they do.National Teacher Appreciation Week

To honor those who work tirelessly each day to provide Fayette’s students with a world-class education, the Fayette County School System will recognize its educators during National Teacher Appreciation Week. The Fayette County Board of Education adopted a proclamation at its regular business meeting on April 18 proclaiming the week of May 2-6 as Teacher Appreciation Week in Fayette County.

Individual schools will honor their teachers throughout the week with planned activities and expressions of appreciation. Community members are encouraged to take a moment during the week to contact a teacher and share their gratitude for the special educators in their lives.

Teachers mold future citizens through guidance and education. The nation’s future depends on a quality education for all students; and therefore, on great teachers. Please remember to thank a teacher this week.
