The award recognizes schools for their dedication to creating a healthy school environment and, a culture of wellness for staff, students, and community. Cleveland was the only school from Fayette to make the honor roll.

Georgia's K-12 public schools were invited to submit an application to be recognized by the Governor's Office, the Georgia Department of Education, and the Georgia Department of Public Health for their exceptional participation in the annual fitness assessment data collection process, as well as their commitment to efforts that improve student wellness. This year, schools were recognized at four levels: bronze, silver, gold, and platinum.

Cleveland met the criteria for the platinum level, which included offering 90 hours of physical education, having 100 percent of students complete the FitnessGram (fitness assessment), daily scheduled recess, and participating in the Power Up for 30 pledge and training (an additional 30 minutes of activity worked into the school day in addition to regularly scheduled recess).

The school received a banner to display signifying it as a platinum level winner on the Governor’s Shape Honor Roll.
