Students Earn Medals on National French Exam


A total of 17 students from Starr’s Mill High and Whitewater High schools earned medals for their performance on the Le Grand Concours (National French Exam), a national competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French.Students Earn Medals on National French Exam

The medal count totaled three gold, five silver, and nine bronze for the two schools combined. The students who earned medals are (Starr’s Mill High) Rommy Sierra, level I, gold; Nicole Sierra, level I, silver; Biankah Destin; level I, silver; Catherine Lozano, level I, bronze; Julissa Sanchez, level I, bronze; Mackenzie Burgess, level I, bronze; Samuel Navarro, level II, silver; Reka Kilgren, level II, bronze; Gray Jones, level III, bronze; Diana Moran, level III, bronze; Madeleline Childress, level IV, silver; Tofunmi Bamiro, level IV, bronze; (Whitewater High) Craig Davis, level I, bronze; Gabi Earl, level II, gold; Lucy Symonds, level II, silver; Alex Seda, level II, bronze; and Matthew Skibiel, level IV, gold.

Students are evaluated for their written, oral and listening comprehension in French. This year, nearly 80,000 students participated in the exam nationwide with just under 18,000 of them receiving medals for their performance.
