2008 Summer High School Overview

Summer School is for CREDIT RECOVERY only, absolutely no new credit will be issued.  A student MUST have previously taken and failed any course he/she wants to repeat in summer school.

Classes Begin:   June  3, 2008
Last Day to Withdraw with 50% Refund/

Last Day of Classes:   July 8, 2008
Final Exams:   July 9, 2008
Graduation (tentative date):   July 10, 2008

 Financial Arrangements


Registration fees will be due no later than the day of registration.  There will be no delayed payments. 

Payment must be made by Cash, Visa or MasterCard. 

NO CHECKS will be accepted for payment.  If using Visa or MasterCard, the cardholder must be present.

 
 Report Cards


Report cards will be mailed to students who provide a self addressed, STAMPED envelope; report cards may be picked up by the student from 8-9 am and from 1-2 pm on July 10, 2008.  Please note that ALL final grades will be sent to the day school the student attends.  Grades will not be given over the phone.

 
 Class Schedule

 

ALL CLASSES MEET MONDAY-THURSDAY

Direct Instruction Class Schedule – Each class will meet for 180 Minutes:
 

High School

180 Minutes/Class

 
1st Period:

8:00-11:00am

Break:

11:00–11:30am

2nd Period:

11:40– 2:40pm

 

NovaNet classes will be scheduled on an individual basis for students who meet all eligibility criteria. Students work independently in this computerized instructional setting with certified teachers available for assistance and supplemental instruction as needed.

New credit course work may be taken through on line options offered through the student’s day school.  If new credit course work is needed, see your day school counselor for assistance. 

GA Virtual classes allow family travel and individual scheduling of work; see your day school counselor to register for new course credit through Georgia Virtual School.  Cost for each course is $300.00.  See the attached information and visit www.GAVirtualSchool.org for more information.  Your day school counselor and facilitator will oversee registration for these courses.

 
 Special Note
 

Students must provide their own transportation to and from classes.  High School students should not arrive before 7:50 am.  Each student is expected to leave immediately after his/her last class. 

Reasonable learning accommodations will be made for students with special needs.

No resource classes will be offered during the summer.
