Non-payment of Fees:
Students with an outstanding balance will not receive the final report card
until the balance is paid.
Late
Pick-up of Students:
Students are expected to be picked up promptly after dismissal from class.
After a warning has been given, students not picking up will be charged
$2.00 for every five (5) minute period after 4:00pm.
Transportation:
Parents/guardians must
provide students transportation to and from school. Students should not
arrive at school earlier than 7:15am, and are expected to leave immediately
after class.
Attendance Policy:
Absences: Students that have three (3) absences will be
dismissed from Summer School.
Parents will be
notified when a student receives a second absence. Attendance requirements
will not be waived for vacations, summer sporting events, camps,
tournaments, or other events.
Tardies: Up to
fourteen (14) minutes late is considered tardy, fifteen (15) minutes or more
is considered an absence. Three (3) tardies equals one (1) absence. There
will be no make-up work for instructional time missed.
If
a student is dismissed for attendance they will not receive credit, and no
refund will be granted.
Dismissal for Behavior:
Students who fail to abide by the Fayette County Student Code of Conduct may
be dismissed from Summer School. If a student is dismissed for behavior
they will not receive credit, and no refund will be issued.
Learning Accommodations:
Reasonable learning accommodations will be made for students. Resource
classes are not offered.
Sports Eligibility:
If a
student is attending Summer School for eligibility, the student must pass
the class that made them ineligible.
Promotion/Retention:
The
Summer School administration does not make the decision to promote or retain
a student. The principal of the student’s school makes that decision after
the final report card.
Lunch:
Lunch
is not provided. Students must bring their own lunch. Snacks are sold
during this time.
Breaks and Snacks:
A
10-minute break will be given between classes. Snacks are sold at the snack
bar during this break.
A
5-minute break will be given during each class. Snacks may not be
purchased during this time. If the student brings a snack, they may eat it
during the mid-class break. |
