As such, we get a lot of questions about computers and computer-related technology!  We've selected the most interesting and frequently asked questions (and answers!) to post here for your entertainment.

True or False?

Worldwide virus traffic totaled about 900 million messages per day in 2005.

True!  And, according a leading industry expert, it is expected to increase to 4.2 billion messages per day by 2009.  This is because most viruses are self-propagating, and users are not as vigilant as they could be in the fight against virus attacks.  Here at fcboe.org, we take virus protection very seriously and have a number of safeguards in place to protect our network.

--------------

More than 50% of virus writers are now writing spyware under contract; one more piece of evidence that hacking has evolved from a mischievous hobby to a moneymaking criminal venture.

False -- the actual percentage is more than 70%!  Proof that we need to be more vigilant than ever in the fight against unauthorized entry into our network.

--------------

In 2006, we expect that SPAM traffic will comprise 53% of corporate and 74% of consumer email traffic.

True!  In total, SPAM will comprise 57% of worldwide email traffic.  User behavior continues to be the best prevention of this problem and its impact.
