More than 13,134 regular education students and 101 special education students are transported daily.  This number represents 63% of the school system's total enrollment.

Fleet Information
The school system currently uses 181 buses to transport students even though state funding is received for only 95.  That equals 86 drivers and buses, plus fuel, parts, wear and tear and labor to keep the buses operational, which are funded locally.

The buses are inspected every 20-30 school days.  The Georgia Department of Motor Vehicle Safety also inspects the buses yearly.  School Bus Fleet Magazine named Fayette's bus shop in the top 10 bus fleets for 2003.  The average bus in the county is 5.7 years old.
