Our counselors facilitate small groups to skill-build and help meet the needs of our students.
Groups vary from year to year based on student need. Our small groups include:
- Stress management
- Anger management
- Social skills
- Rainbows groups (see below)
- Other groups as needed
Most groups meet once per week during the school day for approximately 6 weeks. We rotate meeting times so students will not miss the same class each week. Parent permission is requested. Click here to download a parental consent form that your student can turn in to either counselor.
Rainbows groups meet once a week, during school hours for 12 weeks. Rainbows is an international organization that offers training and curricula for establishing local support groups. The program is designed to assist children and adolescents who are grieving a death, divorce or any other painful transition in their family.
When a change takes place in a family, whether it is death, divorce, separation or abandonment, it has a profound effect on all members in the family; and many students benefit from support during this time. A registration form will be sent home upon student or parent request.
