AdvancED Performance Accreditation and the Engagement Review

AdvancED Performance Accreditation and the Engagement Review process support educational quality and continuous improvement by evaluating the entire institution, including its programs, culture, and stakeholder community, to determine how effectively all components work together to meet student needs. Using rigorous research-based standards, highly trained Engagement Review Teams collect evidence through observations, interviews, surveys, and other activities to assess the quality of learning environments and identify opportunities for improvement in teaching and learning. The process provides institutions with valuable feedback and guidance, helping schools and education providers strengthen performance and focus their ongoing improvement efforts.

About Cognia Accreditation

In 2012 the Northwest Accreditation commission joined AdvancED, AdvancED merged with Measured Progress in 2018 and the organization rebranded as Cognia in 2019. Cognia accreditation brings an impartial outside perspective from trained evaluators and seasoned educators.

Education providers that earn Cognia Accreditation are awarded that recognition by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC), and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), which comprise three of the six regionally recognized K–12 accrediting bodies. As such, Fayette County Public Schools are proud to be accredited by Cognia.
