Foundation Initiatives & Support

The Fayette County Education Foundation has three main areas of focus:

Staff Support

We support Fayette County Public Schools teachers and staff through teacher grants to support engaging classroom activities and lessons; teacher and paraprofessional scholarships for continuing education.

Student and Teacher Leadership

The FCEF supports schools and district leaders by providing funds to support district initiatives to further train our students, teachers and principals as well as supporting and elevating the Fayette County Public Schools teacher of the year.

Early Learning

Research shows that 90% of a child's brain development occurs by the age of 5. We are committed to supporting early learning initiatives to support childhood development birth-five years of age for all children in Fayette County.

Other Areas of Support

In addition to our three main initiatives, we also support CARE for students in need, the REACH GA scholarship program, and the Friends mentoring program.

C.A.R.E. - Children At Risk in Education

C.A.R.E. is a student assistance-based program, a dedicated and committed system of reaching out to students who are having difficulties with relationships, stress, grades, substance abuse, and finances.

There is a reason Fayette County has the top school system in the state of Georgia. It's not all about scores, grades, and top academic honors. While academic achievement is the result of student effort, student effort is the result of a balance of physical, social, and emotional well-being. Students without this well-being tend to produce less academically, and it is our CARE Program that helps students in our community to develop this balance. By offering a variety of programs, outreach resources, and other assistance, our students are better prepared to go the distance academically. In Fayette County, people CARE. REACH Georgia Scholarship Program

REACH Georgia is a statewide needs-based mentorship and scholarship program. It provides academically promising 8th-grade students who have a demonstrated financial need with academic, social, and financial support to help make their dreams of college and a bright future a reality. Many of these students may be the first in their families to go to college.

Scholars are paired with a community mentor and an Academic Coach who works with them through high school graduation. When ReachGa scholars graduate with at least a 2.5 HOPE GPA and maintain good behavior and attendance, they receive a $10,000 scholarship which can be used at any Hope-eligible college, university, or technical school in Georgia. Donations to the Education Foundation can be designated to go toward funding a scholarship for a deserving Fayette scholar. More information on REACH

Friends Mentoring Program

In addition to funding initiatives, the Education Foundation oversees and supports other groups and programs within the school system by managing their donations, and dispersing funds when needed. More information on the Friends Mentoring Program
