CONGRATULATIONS AND BEST WISHES
Congratulations Nurse Connie Knowles on your upcoming retirement! Thank you for keeping our Braelinn Stars healthy
and safe every day! Welcome Nurse Erin Knapp who begins January 7.
Best wishes to our PE Paraprofessional, Michelle Stacy, on her move to warmer temperatures in Florida. Thank you
Coach Stacy for helping our Braelinn Stars to be fit and have fun. Welcome PE Paraprofessional, Trish Arnold, who
begins January 8.
Congratulations to Ms. Meyer and her amazing Chorus and Chimes students for their incredible performances last
night and today.
READ, READ, READ
As we go into the holidays, we see lots of time to READ! Six Flags offers an incentive called Read to Succeed to all K - 6
students to earn a FREE Six Flags ticket just by reading and filling out a reading log. Your child simply needs to log 6
hours (or 360 minutes) of reading time between now (Nov. 2017) and Friday February 23, 2018. Extended time away
from school like this upcoming break is a great time to encourage continued reading!
Things to note:
1. Students must turn in the Reading Log by Friday Feb. 23, 2018 (or earlier, if finished!). This is a firm deadline as the
website will close and not allow me to enter any more names.
2. The tickets will be given to your student at the end of the school year in May 2018. The tickets are dated for the
summer months by Six Flags over Atlanta.
3. A copy of the Reading Log is attached at the bottom of this email. If you need a printed copy, please contact
email@example.com Happy Reading!
LOST AND STILL NOT FOUND
Please have your child check the lost and found (in the cafeteria) each day. All remaining items will be donated next
Friday. Coats and other items clearly labeled with student names are returned to homeroom teachers.
HOW WILL YOUR CHILD GO HOME IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY EARLY-RELEASE FROM SCHOOL?
With winter coming, emergency early-release is always a possibility. How will your child go home? Bus, car rider, heated
golf cart, or ASP? Walking or riding a bike is not typically an option on these days. All after-school activities (except ASP)
are automatically cancelled. We will not be able to take phone calls or emails, so please be sure you have your PUP
DEFAULT (the way your child goes home EVERY day) set accurately, and then ONLY make changes to PUP if you want
the default to change that day. Need help? Check your email for a PUP invitation or email firstname.lastname@example.org

The kids are so excited for their holiday parties! Thank you parent volunteers for signing-up through homeroom
teachers since you will need to arrive early. All Braelinn parents are invited to attend the parties; please just sign-in at
the front office, grab your visitor sticker, and enjoy the party with your children. See the chart below for times/dates.
Please contact your child’s teacher for more information.
CAFETERIA PLEASE HELP: PLEASE NO VISITORS DURING JANUARY LUNCH (only 17 school days)
We are working to make lunch a more enjoyable time for students, so we are reshaping our cafeteria culture. To help us
with the process, we are asking that all students sit and eat lunch with their classmates in January (not at a parent table,
just for 17 school days.) For 17 days, Braelinn staff and students will work together to improve our dining experience. If
you are celebrating a birthday or have family in town in January, please still feel free to come for lunch and be seated at
the parent table with your child. With the cold weather, lunch in the courtyard is limited, so our cafeteria tables are
packed. Unfortunately, we don’t have space for another table, so please understand that student seating is a priority.
We’ve had so many lunch visitors lately that some of our students have had to eat in their classrooms instead of the
cafeteria. We will create a rotating visitor lunch schedule to roll out in February. Thank you so much for your help!
A 9-month retainer was signed with Bomar Law Firm, LLC. Once the taxes are filed, the average IRS processing time is 6
months. We expect three milestones to be updated:
1. Submission of application to IRS
2. Decision rendered by IRS (up to 180 days after #1)
3. Completion of Incorporation/Bylaw process
Outside of these three events we do not expect updates to be necessary. All PTO events are on-hold until further notice.

Thank you parents for your patience, and your support of each other and our amazing school!
