The Fayette County Public Schools Class of 2026 earned more than $49.3 million in scholarships, excluding the HOPE Scholarship, marking a 16% increase over last year.

Students from the district’s five high schools earned admissions to 3,747 colleges and universities, including Ivy League institutions Cornell University, the University of Pennsylvania and Yale University.

Eight students received appointments to U.S. service academies, a 14% increase over last year. Appointments were awarded to the U.S. Air Force Academy (4), U.S. Naval Academy (2), U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (1) and U.S. Coast Guard Academy (1).

Admission to U.S. service academies is highly competitive, requiring strong academic achievement, physical qualifications and demonstrated leadership.
