Technology Services Mission and Scope

Technology Services supports the district’s educational mission by integrating and maintaining the technological systems that power both classroom instruction and operational efficiency. The department provides professional development for teachers on the effective use of technology, collaborates with curriculum teams to thoughtfully integrate digital tools into instruction, and promotes responsible use through digital citizenship initiatives. It manages student and staff device programs and supports core platforms, including the student information system and the learning management system. In addition to securing and maintaining the district’s network infrastructure, hardware, and essential software applications, Technology Services delivers responsive technical support and upholds cybersecurity best practices through a comprehensive data governance program. The department also coordinates media programs across all 24 schools and leads the implementation of the computer science curriculum in all 14 elementary schools. By embracing emerging innovations such as artificial intelligence, blended learning models, and digital equity initiatives, Technology Services ensures that all students and staff benefit from reliable, forward-thinking, and inclusive technology solutions. These efforts are further reflected in key initiatives like the Chromebook Program and Connected Classroom experience, which bring technology directly into students’ hands and learning environments.
