Please, no lunchtime visitors in January (unless you are celebrating a birthday or have out of town guests) WHY? So we can work with all children, sitting together with their classmates, to reestablish lunch time habits.

    February-May Lunch Visitor Schedule:

    Mondays Kinder           Tuesdays 1st          Wednesdays 2nd & 5th         Thursdays 3rd           Fridays 4th

More than one child at Braelinn? Please join lunch (and see all of your children) on your oldest child’s assigned day of the week.  Can’t make the assigned day (due to your work schedule or have an out-of-town guest) choose one other day of the week. WHY a rotating visitor schedule? Our cafeteria is crowded, and we have no space to add another table.

ICECREAM: Exact change 75 cents works best, and nothing larger than a $5.00.

A 9-month retainer was signed with Bomar Law Firm, LLC. Once the taxes are filed, the average IRS processing time is 6 months.  We expect 3 milestones to be updated:  Submission of application to IRS, decision rendered by IRS (up to 180 days after #1), and completion of Incorporation/Bylaw process.  Outside of these 3 events we do not expect updates to be necessary. All PTO events are on-hold until further notice.

Legal Update:  The Bomar Law Firm is in the process of preparing the statement for the IRS and the application for incorporation.

Parents of 3rd and 5th graders, please save the date for our final Holiday Lunch February 7.  Reservation forms will be sent home later this month.

Enjoy your Holiday Weekend!  See you Tuesday.

Please see FITNESSGRAM letter on next page.

    Dear Parent/Guardian

As a part of your child’s P.E. program, in February, all schools throughout the state will be participating in the FITNESSGRAM fitness assessment which measures health-related fitness for youth.

The FITNESSGRAM physical fitness assessment measures aerobic capacity, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, and body composition.  We ask that you encourage your child to participate with his/her best effort and to the best of their ability.  The FITNESSGRAM assessment is a measure of good health as opposed to athletic ability.  Each student will be assessed using the following assessment components:

    • PACE and One-Mile Run
    • Push-Up
    • Height/Weight

A confidential FITNESSGRAM report will be provided for each student via email or for the student to take home at the end of the year.  This report will include your child’s scores and information on the FITNESSGRAM Healthy Fitness Zones.  The Healthy Fitness Zone represents the level of fitness needed for good health.  The information on this private report will not be displayed or made public.

It is important that all students wear tennis shoes and dress appropriately for the month of February for these state tests.  If your child is absent or injured they must have a doctor’s note to be excused. They will have to make the test up so your child needs to be prepared to make up the test during their other specials (art, music, computer, or physical education) time so they may want to pack a pair of tennis shoes or extra clothes.

All students in grades 1 through 5 will have their height and weight measured.

4th & 5th grade students will be tested in all the other areas mentioned above.

    Thank you,

    Braelinn Physical Education Staff
