• Theraputic Services - Patient Care


    Careers in the Therapeutic Services pathway are focused primarily on changing the health status of the patient over time. Health professionals in this pathway work directly with patients and may provide care, treatment, counseling and health education information.  National labor market information indicates that eight out of the top twenty fastest-growing occupations are in the Health Science industry.  Students completing this pathway will have the opportunity to take the CNA industry certification exam. The CNA certification is an admissions requirement for many nursing programs.

    CTE Pathway Courses

    • Introduction to Healthcare Science -- This course is offered at the high school.

    • Essentials of Healthcare -- This course is offered at the high school.

    • Patient Care Fundamentals/Nurse Aide -- This course is offered at the COI as a MOWR course and students have the opportunity to earn high school credit, technical college credit for NAST 1100 & ALHS 1060, and the CNA industry recognized credential.
