Open Campus High School Program
The Fayette County Open Campus Program, “Open Campus,” began with the 2008-09 school year.
This page provides information parents and students need to make an informed decision as to whether or not the Open Campus program fits the needs of the student.
The Open Campus program will provide online and individualized course instruction. All Open Campus teachers are certified and have taught previously in Fayette County Public Schools.
Note: The Fayette County Open Campus program is an educational program of choice utilizing online learning approaches with limited direct teacher support. As such, we provide reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities, but we do not implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). IEPs offering a free, appropriate public education for students with disabilities are implemented at the student’s home school or service school, as designated in the IEP. Any student with an IEP should meet with the Case Manager/LEA Representative as part of the application process for the Open Campus Program. Upon acceptance to the Open Campus Program, Parent(s)/Guardian(s) and/or Student (depending on age) must sign an acknowledgement that the IEP will not be implemented at the Open Campus Program. A copy of the student's IEP accommodations/modifications will be included as part of the application to the Open Campus Program.
