Smart Start Program

Fayette County Public Schools' Smart Start teaches parents and caregivers how to help their young children learn through play. Smart Start provides fun opportunities to learn from each other while working with certified early childhood experts in a high-quality mini-preschool environment.

The program will be hosted at the following 7 elementary schools during the 2025-2026 school year. A neighboring elementary school as listed below is also invited to attend the host school.

 

Parents should report to the host school for the first step of registration. Parents must provide proof of the child's age via birth certificate documentation and residency in the respective school attendance zones via acceptable residency documentation. The enrollment process should then be completed per Enrollment Center requirements. Children who are eligible to attend Kindergarten or are currently attending a Georgia Pre-K Program in our school system are not eligible to participate.

Other important details:

• Smart Start meets 1 day per week for 90 minutes at the host school. Days and times are listed below. 
• The parent or caregiver is required to be in attendance and fully participate in the program following the lead of the teacher. The child can not be dropped off.
• Good attendance and punctuality are required.
• Transportation and meals are not provided.
• The program begins in the first week of school.
