Innovative thinking has Fayette County Public Schools positioned to add the best and brightest educators. The school system human resources department was recently honored with a Georgia Association of School Personnel Administrators (GASPA) Platinum Award of Excellence.
The honor was a Best In Class nod in the area of recruitment. As traditional methods of reaching potential applicants have become less effective, human resources teamed up with the public relations department to expand recruitment methods. Free and low-cost methods like social media posts, YouTube videos, paid internet ads, virtual career fairs, and website announcements were used to recruit new employees.
The initiative paid off with increased participation in the virtual career fairs over last year.
