McIntosh High Director of Bands Barbara Baker has been named a quarterfinalist for the 2026 Music Educator Award by The Recording Academy and GRAMMY Museum.
A total of 200 music teachers from 180 cities are in the running for the award. In total, over 2,000 initial nominations were submitted. In addition to these quarterfinalists, 214 legacy applicants from 2025 will also be eligible to win the award this year.
The semi-finalists for the award will be announced in September. The final recipient of the 2026 Music Educator Award will be honored during GRAMMY Week 2026, days ahead of the 68th Annual GRAMMY Awards.
