A Message from our Interim Principal
Fayetteville Elementary School Parents & Guardians,
I am very excited to have the opportunity to serve as your Interim Principal at Fayetteville Elementary School for next few weeks while the school district works to secure a permanent replacement for Ms. Lawrence. I will likely remain in this role until early December and then I will continue to work with the new principal for several days to ensure a smooth transition. I recently retired as a principal in the school district, spending 29 of my 31 years in education in the Fayette County Public Schools. Serving at FES in this feeder pattern is a homecoming of sorts for me, having served as a teacher "up the hill" at Fayette Intermediate School earlier in my career and more recently as the principal at Fayette County High School from 2013-2018. I look forward to reconnecting with many of the families who had other children at FIS or FCHS.
Although I will only be here a few weeks as principal, I still would like to fully engage with the wonderful community of Cub families. I enjoyed visiting many classrooms today and I was extremely impressed with the high levels of student engagement that I witnessed in every grade level. FES is a special place indeed! I look forward to working with the faculty and students in the coming weeks to stay "steady in the boat" to ready the school to receive a new permanent principal. In the meantime, if there is anything I can do to support you, your student, or your family, please do not hesitate to reach out!
I look forward to meeting you in the coming weeks and I am excited about my time as a Fayetteville Elementary Cub!
