Each year FES does a Team Approach Community Project. Our students discussed and decided to choose Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Many of the children that have to go to CHOA have to remain on the premises for extended lengths of time for their treatments. They are leaving their homes with a parent and not able to have their own toys and comforts of home. They are able to move around the campus. They have a beautiful garden they can go into and see the butterflies. To do this many of the children ride in a red wagon because of their treatment.
It was their wish to fill a red wagon with toys, coloring books, drawing pads, markers, crayons, etc… that they can use to make their time there more enjoyable. After raising the funds, the wagon was purchased and filled. Dr. Joanna Johnson presented our gift to CHOA on behalf of the 4th grade students at Fayetteville Elementary School.
