Squishy Circuits light up Spring Hill Suns
Spring Hill Elementary 5th graders were buzzing thanks to a Squishy Circuits lab.
For the hands-on lab, students used conductive and insulating playdough to build electrical circuits. They experimented with powering LED lights to explore the basics of electrical conductivity, circuit design, and energy flow in a fun and interactive way. It was an engaging, collaborative experience where they worked in small groups to design and test their own circuits.
Teacher Ashley Tarver loved that the activity encouraged problem solving, creativity, and teamwork to make science both educational and exciting.
“The goal was for students to develop a foundational understanding of electricity and circuits in a hands-on way,” said Tarver. “By building and troubleshooting their circuits, they learned about conductors, insulators, open and closed circuits, and energy transfer.”
