Meet Mr. Ratliff

Shane Ratliff began his career as an educator in 2005 as a Social Studies teacher at Fayette Middle School.  In 2008, he began working as a U.S. History teacher at Starr’s Mill High School, becoming the athletic director and assistant principal there in 2017.   

Mr. Ratliff grew up in Fairburn, Georgia. He is a graduate of Creekside High School. After high school, he went on to play college baseball and graduated from West Georgia with a degree in History with a certification in Secondary Education. He later received a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from American College of Education and  a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Valdosta State University. His wife, Mandy, is a Fayette County graduate and special education teacher.  His son, Sawyer, is a 4th grader at Peeples Elementary.  In his spare time, Mr. Ratliff enjoys all sports and spending time traveling with his family.

Mr. Ratliff is excited to begin the school year, leading the faculty and staff to an exemplary school year. His belief is every student matters and every moment counts. He is looking forward to building a partnership with all collaborators to make the year successful for everyone involved in the J.C. Booth community.
