Halloween often brings spooky surprises, but the Whitewater Middle Symphonic Band received one of a more pleasant kind. Dressed in their costumes at their annual fall concert, the Cats were surprised as they were given the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) Exemplary Performance Award.
The Exemplary Performance Award is the most prestigious award given to middle school bands in Georgia. It is given in recognition of outstanding performances in all GMEA-sponsored events throughout last school year.
Steven Charity, Director of Bands at Whitewater Middle, accepted on behalf of all of the talented young Cats.
