More than a dozen of Fayette County Public Schools were among those honored when Governor Brian Kemp, along with the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA), announced the winners of the Highest Performing and Greatest Gains school awards.
Eight schools were honored with the Greatest Gains Award. Greatest Gains schools must earn a three-year average College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) Progress Score that ranks in at least the 93rd percentile.
Whitewater Middle earned platinum. Oak Grove Elementary and Rising Starr Middle earned gold. JC Booth Middle and McIntosh High earned silver. Flat Rock Middle, Kedron Elementary, and Robert J. Burch Elementary earned bronze.
Seven schools earned the Highest Performing Award. Highest Performing schools must earn a three-year average CCRPI Content Mastery Score that ranks in at least the 93rd percentile.
Rising Starr Middle earned platinum, and Braelinn Elementary earned gold. Kedron Elementary, Peachtree City Elementary, Peeples Elementary, and Starr’s Mill High earned silver. Crabapple Lane Elementary earned bronze.
The school awards, developed by GOSA and approved by the State Board of Education, are part of Georgia’s Single Statewide Accountability System. Each award category has four tiers: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
The 2024 Greatest Gains award winners include 146 schools across 46 districts, and the 2024 Highest Performing award winners include 120 schools across 21 districts. Fifty-three schools in 16 districts are award winners in both categories. Winning schools will receive a certificate to display in the school.
