Virtual Days, April 1st and 2nd

IC Email from Fayette County Schools:

March 12, 2021

Our employees are scheduled to receive their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday, April 1. Due to the large number of staff who will be out of their buildings to get vaccinated, students will participate in personalized learning from home on April 1.

Side effects are more common with the second dose, so due to the fact that there might be a lot of absences following the second vaccination, students will also participate in personalized learning from home on April 2.

Teachers will communicate assignments and expectations to students for the April 1 and April 2 personalized learning day.

We understand that these unscheduled personalized learning days may be an inconvenience for some families. However, the health and safety of our students and staff is a top priority. We believe that allowing our employees the opportunity to get vaccinated will make our schools safer and healthier for everyone.

We appreciate your understanding, and the support you have given to our schools during such a difficult and uncertain time. We are hopeful that as more people are vaccinated, COVID-19 will soon be behind us and we can look forward to brighter days ahead.
