New Teacher Induction sets tone for new year

The beginning of the school year should go a bit more smoothly for 120-plus new educators thanks to Fayette County Public Schools’ annual New Teacher Induction program.

Hosted this year by Bennett’s Mill Middle, the three-day seminar brings together teachers new to the system with veteran teachers, administrators, and curriculum leaders for a deep dive into professional learning. Along with guest speakers, the local leaders share their expertise to help get their new colleagues ready for the year ahead.

Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Patterson encouraged the new teachers to help the school system strive for excellence.

“We’re not interested in being average,” said Patterson. “We want to be the best.”
