Flat Rock Middle’s 7th and 8th grade chorus students won big on a weekend trip to the Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. The FRMS Singers won 1st place in the Middle School AA Concert Choir Division at the Music in The Parks Festival at Dollywood, and Mason Nagaj won the Best Soloist Award in the competition.
The Eagles also earned the top honor of the Espirit De Corps Award, bestowed upon just one group in the competition. The 20 musical ensembles that registered for the competition came from came from around the southeast and even New York.
“To win this award, you had to have a top-tier performance, exhibit great behavior, show discipline and respect, and show overall excellence in everything you say and do,” said Flat Rock Choral Director Ladell Fortune. “What an honor to be recognized! What a testament to a truly wonderful and highly successful trip!”
