School Board earns Exemplary Status for ninth year

The Fayette County Public School System is proud to announce that the Fayette County Board of Education has received the Georgia School Boards Association’s (GSBA) 2024 Exemplary School Board recognition.

The recognition program is designed to showcase best practices in school governance and leadership. It requires a high level of commitment from school boards and individual members. The Fayette County Board of Education met and/or exceeded the criteria set forth by GSBA to earn the honor of a 2024 Exemplary Board.

The school system’s school boards have earned this recognition each year since its inception in 2015, making this the ninth consecutive award.

The Fayette County Board of Education consists of Scott Hollowell, chairman, District 3; Randy Hough, vice-chairman, District 1; Roy Rabold, District 2; Dr. Regina Daigre, District 4; and Brian Anderson, at-large.

Georgia superintendents and board members developed the GSBA Governance Team Recognition Program based on the state board of education’s standards for effective governance to recognize exemplary leadership. The GSBA Board recognition program is a three-tiered program. For more information, visit GSBA.com.
