When classes at Flat Rock Middle were finishing up a unit on government, they turned to a trio of local mayors for their expertise.
Mayor Eric Dial of Tyrone, Mayor Ed Johnson of Fayetteville, and Mayor Mario Avery of Fairburn jumped at the invitation to speak with the young Eagles. They fielded all range of questions like why they wanted to become the mayor and what is their favorite local eating place.
The students had an opportunity to practice public speaking, ask follow-up questions, and learn what it takes to become a leader in their community.
